A Bit About Me

Sarah James Travel specialises in tailor made travel to Africa, with a particular focus on family safaris as well as arranging memorable trips for couples, honeymooners, solo travellers and groups of friends.  

Sarah has always had a deep passion for Africa - although born and raised in England, idyllic childhood holidays were spent visiting her mothers family in South Africa.  Her love affair was further fuelled by spending a year teaching in a school in Tanzania followed by a few years spent running safari camps in Zimbabwe and Botswana.  She has been organising high end safaris to Africa since 2001 when she started to work for a London based tour operator and headed up their Africa team.  In 2013, Sarah moved to live in South Africa and Sarah James Travel was launched.  

Over the past 20 years, every spare moment has been spent exploring the extraordinary diversity of this continent and Sarah loves nothing more than applying her wealth of knowledge and experience into creating trips of a lifetime for her clients. She is based in Franschhoek where she lives with her husband, daughter and their African Grey parrot.
